Heather West
B.A. Stanford University, 2009, History
Heather West coordinates our summer internship program, our work with undergraduate research assistants, and our events. Heather will also work with our program on Water in the West as a researcher. A graduate of Stanford in 2009, Heather came to the Center after a year at Suntech America, a solar technology company, where she was a human resources specialist and directed their summer internship program. Heather also has worked for the Environmental Protection Agency in the industrial wastewater program enforcing Clean Water Act compliance, and as a research assistant to Dr. Rodolfo Dirzo, in the Stanford Biological Sciences Department doing fieldwork in Mexico. While completing her B.A. in History, with a concentration in environmental history, Heather also was captain of the Stanford Women's Water Polo Team for two consecutive years — a true testament to her leadership and the support and respect of her teammates. The team placed in the top three at the NCAA tournament all four years that Heather was on it. And she was an Academic All-American in her sophomore, junior, and senior seasons.
