Preeti Hehmeyer joined the Bill Lane Center in 2015 managing the Center’s programming and development efforts. As the former Associate Director, she led the Center’s partnerships, programs, finances and administration. She convenes faculty, researchers, students, alumni, and the broader community to advance the Lane Center’s work on a wide range of topics related to the American West. Preeti specializes in local government policy and is responsible for the Center’s work with city managers in the Bay Area. She is also a lecturer in Stanford Public Policy Program, where she teaches a project-based learning practicum course for graduating seniors.

Prior to joining the Bill Lane Center for the American West, Preeti worked as a management consultant for public agencies throughout California. She has worked with numerous cities, counties, joint powers authorities, and special districts to improve operational efficiency, create strategic plans, and develop performance measures to track the efficiency and effectiveness of public service delivery.

Preeti holds a Master of Public Administration from the University of Southern California where she was a City/County Management Fellow. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and City/Regional Planning from the University of California, Berkeley. She currently serves on the City of Mountain View's Environmental Planning Commission.
