David M. Laney

David Laney practiced law over 30 years in the areas of business organization and finance and served much of that time as managing partner of a national law firm. During those years he also led the Texas Department of Transportation and the National Railroad Passenger Corporation (Amtrak). David remains directly involved in the development, management and operation of transportation infrastructure. Of two public-private interstate highway projects in the DFW area, he currently serves as a board member of both and chairman of one. He has held positions on boards of a number of public and private companies as well as of educational and charitable institutions, including the Stanford Board of Trustees and the Glacier National Park Conservancy. David is a life-long Texan and an avid outdoorsman. He is regularly spotted on the lam in Utah and Montana. He and his wife Diane Barlow have two daughters, in California and Montana, and a Stanford graduate engineering son in the Bay Area.
