Sydney Lee Schmitter

Sydney Schmitter is a junior at Stanford majoring in Earth Systems on the Land Systems track. She is interested in studying the intersection of marine and land systems through a socio-ecological lens and hopes to eventually enter the nonprofit world. Sydney is passionate about issues of environmental justice and is involved with several projects on campus through Students for a Sustainable Stanford and Strategies for Ecology Education, Diversity, and Sustainability. Outside of class, you can typically find Sydney gardening, fishing, playing tennis, or wave-jumping in her hometown of San Diego.
