In this ArtsWest event, Lukas Felzmann talked about his current project, A Conceptual Atlas of California. A current Guggenheim Fellow and also an Affiliated Scholar at the Bill Lane Center for the American West, Lukas Felzmann is working on a new archive of the state. As the project is in progress Lukas will focus on his process as a photographer and share thoughts about art and science. Is there a place for an analogue archive in these virtual times? How does an artists struggle in the field and the studio? While contemplating this, Lukas will take us on a tour of unpublished photographs from the current project.
Felzmann will be joined in conversation by Jennie Waldow, a Lane Center graduate researcher. Waldow is a PhD candidate in the department of Art and Art History, and studies postwar American and European art, with a focus on 1960s and 1970s Conceptualism.
